The Lippincott is located from 406 to 414 Market Street in Downtown Wilmington, DE.
OMA – the Lower Market St. Design District – is the work of a group of local creative professionals who share a vision for establishing a dynamic live / work / play community in downtown Wilmington. Our neighborhood spans Market Street from DCAD (6th Street) to MLK, Shipley to King Streets. With the cooperation of local entrepreneurs, Arts / Education institutions, city leaders, and property owners, LOMA is poised to take a leadership position in connecting Creativity to Commerce in the First State.
Why Design? Because the Creative Class of our region are ready to concentrate in an area that can deliver character, proximity, and an engaged, progressive community. Because good design elicits a positive emotional response from its audience. Because design is a critical and creative piece of our local and national economies. Because creativity cannot be outsourced. Because it’s fun!
Why Lower Market Street? Because it’s got great architectural bones. Because there is a human scale in walking a street with low 3- and 4- story buildings. Because it’s centrally located among economic HQ’s (Chase, ING Direct, Courthouse); educational HQ’s (DCAD, Delaware Historical Society, DelTech); and entertainment HQ’s (Riverfront, Rodney Square, and Market Street itself). Because a coherent vision has formed among those who work in, invest in, and participate in the community.
